Posted on July 27, 2019October 27, 2020 by walton122

When your home’s heating and cooling system are showing signs of malfunctioning, or you need routine maintenance, you are likely going to be faced with the decision on whether to opt for a contractor or a company. Below, we will be going over some of the things that you should be considering when you are weighing your options.

Choosing A HVAC Contractor or Company:

1. Experience

The main thing that you want to consider when you are shopping around for a contractor or a company in Oakland would be their experience level. You want to find a contractor or company that has a lot of experience offering HVAC services. Therefore, you should be looking to see which companies or contractors are the most amount of expertise within your immediate area. By finding one that is experienced, it shouldn’t matter too much whether they are a full company or just a contractor.

2. Reputation

Another factor that you should be looking at would be the reputation of the company or the contractor in question. When you are in the process of identifying and choosing the right contractor or company, you want to look at the reputation that they have on the marketplace to ensure that you are choosing someone that is going to be able to offer you reliable service. Finding a company or contractor that has a fantastic reputation in the marketplace is one of the best ways to maximize your chances of finding professionals that are going to be capable of just that.

3. Find One Willing To Offer A Warranty

This might be the difference maker when it comes to choosing between either a company or contractor. You want to find someone in Oakland that is going to be both willing and able to offer you some warranty on the service that they are providing. You want to look to get a limited warranty of some kind when you are getting your HVAC repaired or maintained because it can save you a lot of hassle and money in the long run. A reputable company or Oakland contractor is going to be willing and able to offer this type of guarantee on either the servicing, the products installed, or both.

4. Look For Different Certifications

You will want to try to find someone that is correctly certified by various HVAC organizations to ensure that they are going to be able to provide you with the best possible knowledge and experience. You should be able to search for the respective contractors and companies within your immediate area that have the required certifications by looking through different organizations websites like the ACCA.

Overall, there is plenty that you want to consider when you are weighing your options on choosing either a contractor or an HVAC company. By following the tips in this article, you should be able to pick the right contractor or company that has the most experience and the one that is going to be fully capable of providing you with the best service possible.

5 Things a Plumber Will Never Tell You

5 Things a Plumber Will Never Tell You

Posted on July 4, 2019 by walton122

As a homeowner the last thing that you want to do is to call in a plumber, that being said it is sometimes inevitable.  Having someone come in who knows exactly what they are doing is great but at the same time you sit there wondering if there was anything you could have done to prevent the problem from happening in the first place.  As it turns out, there is lots you can do to avoid having plumbing emergencies and here are 5 things that a plumber will never tell you.

Dripping Taps

Most of the time a dripping tap is something that needs to be fixed, it is one of the more common household repairs.  But there are certain times of year where you want to leave your taps dripping just a little bit.  If you live in the northern part of the country where you can get some extremely cold weather then you know the danger of freezing pipes.  Dripping taps can keep your pipes from freezing and causing a huge mess in the middle of winter.

Fixtures are Easy to Fix

Dripping taps or running toilets are often ignored by homeowners but they are issues that are not only easy to fix but will save you money.  Both can run up your water bill costing you money and these are fixes that you can easily do yourself.  Here is how easy it is to change a faucet in your kitchen.

Watch What You Flush

The only thing that should be flushed down your toilet is waste and toilet paper.  There are wipes, cleaning products and feminine hygiene products that claim they are safe to flush, they aren’t.

Saving Water

Saving on the amount of water that you use makes sense both for your wallet and for the environment but be careful how you go about it.  Putting bricks or soda bottles in the back of your toilet tank can affect how they flush.  It is easier and better for your bills to replace your toilet with a low flow unit that uses less water with every flush.

Don’t Call on Mondays

The busiest day of the week for any plumber is on a Monday.  On the weekends everyone is at home using the facilities increasing the chances of something clogging the toilet or pipes.  Also many homeowners on the weekend try and fix their own plumbing which can lead to a whole other set of problems.  Either way it results in a whole bunch of calls to plumbers first thing Monday morning.
